About Me
Karina Johnson, MSW, LICSW
Hello! I am so glad you are here.
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social worker and have been working in the field for over 10 years. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Whitworth University in 2009 and my Master's of Social Work from UW Tacoma in 2017. I became independently licensed in September 2021. I have worked in a variety of settings including community mental health, Children's Administration, and in the emergency department at several different hospitals. I enjoy working with moms and parents of small children, adults who are suffering from depression or anxiety, individuals looking for new coping skills or strategies to improve their overall functioning, and clients who are having a mental health crisis. I use a strengths based perspective with strategies from acceptance and commitment therapy, solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness strategies. I am also certified to teach Triple P parenting classes (regular session fees + plus cost of book). In my free time I love to run, drink coffee, spend time with my family and kids, and go hiking on the beautiful Washington trails!
